Jeddah overview

Jeddah Travel Guide
Jeddah is one of the biggest and most important cities in Saudi Arabia. It is also the gateway to Mecca and according to legend, the last resting place of Eve. For most visitors, al-Balad is a must see. Fabulous ramshackle houses built from coral are literally disintegrating all around and they make up an intriguing warren of streets and souks to explore. The city also boasts wonderful eating opportunities and any visit would be a waste without gobbling down a shawarma. There are plenty of diving opportunities in the Red Sea for those who wish to avoid the crowds of Egypt and the Sinai. Non-Muslims are advised to check out the dos and doníts of visiting Jeddah and are strongly advised to resist the urge of a quick trip to Mecca.
